TWIYO has officially launched. Version 1.3.0 brings games, AAC, the speller, Premium, and the parent panel together in one stable app — privacy-first, on your own tablet.
We are proud to share that TWIYO has officially launched with version 1.3.0. This is our first truly stable release: everything we built and tested over recent months is now in one clear production version. No “beta” mindset anymore — this is the foundation we will build on.
TWIYO remains what it was: an affordable, privacy-friendly app for children who communicate and learn with little or no spoken language — including autism, speech-language difficulties, and related challenges. You use your own tablet or phone, with no app store required. Photos, recordings, and word lists stay on the device.
What is in 1.3.0? For free you can play word games, practice letters and counting, and add a limited number of custom words with photos and voice. Premium adds the communication board (AAC), the speller board to tap letters and hear them aloud, progress insights, and unlimited custom content. Parents manage everything in the parent panel: turn categories on or off, reorder tabs, set phonetic pronunciation on tiles, and use one consistent child-friendly voice with adjustable speed.
A few areas we focused on for this launch: more reliable audio (fewer overlapping voices), a clear Premium welcome email, secure sign-in and subscription linking, and a user guide that matches the app. The speller has a switch for uppercase and lowercase letters — helpful if your physical letter board only uses capitals.
Ready to start? Open twiyo.app, add TWIYO to your home screen, and try the free parts first. Want to try AAC and the speller? There is a free Premium trial. Our step-by-step guide at twiyo.app/guide explains how to open the parent panel and start gently with a small set of categories.
We would love to hear how it works for you — via the contact form on the site or through speech therapists and schools. Thank you for giving TWIYO a place in children’s and parents’ daily lives.
